Forum Overview
The SDG Forum brings together representatives from social action and environmental offices of select higher education institutions in order to introduce the concept of SDG and have a deeper understanding and appreciation of its relation to local, national, and regional integrations.
It also aims to start an enabling discussion among participants on the possible contribution of the academic community towards the localization and attainment of the SDGs.
Specifically, the forum covers the following topics:
As a strategy, a network of Academic Institutions will be formed with an intention of creating an enabling venue for sharing of and learning through experiences and in showcasing the best practices in areas of social engagement and community involvement programs.
It also aims to start an enabling discussion among participants on the possible contribution of the academic community towards the localization and attainment of the SDGs.
Specifically, the forum covers the following topics:
- Part 1: Introduction to Sustainable Development, Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals, and Discussion on Sustainability
- Part 2: National Situationer (Philippine Development Plan & Ambisyon 2040); and NEDA’s Sectoral’ integration efforts (workshop);
- Part 3: Sharing of Best Practices, Reflection Session, & Output Presentation (Call-To-Action) Moreover, it also seeks to fulfill the global goals by engaging people, influencing institutions, and empowering communities.
