Project Overview
In line with the goals of the United Nations to pursue the sustainable development of local communities and after a series of extensive reviews and consultations involving various stakeholders, De La Salle University through its Center for Social Concern and Action has developed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Localization Project which aims to localize 11 out 17 global goals of the United Nations.
The Project has four components specifically addressing key social concerns in the sectors of education, health, environment, and social entrepreneurship namely: Lasallian Accessible, Relevant, and Alternative Learning (L-ARAL); Lasallian Health Education, Health Services and Training Services (L-HEARTS); Lasallian Environmental Sustainability and Governance (L-EnviSaGe); and Lasallian Social Enterprise for Economic Development (L-SEED). Through the SDG Localization Project, the University aims to maintain a strong collaboration and shared commitment with its key partners and stakeholders, while calibrating its community engagement to become more socially relevant and impact-driven. It also seeks to fulfill the global goals by engaging people, influencing institutions and empowering communities.
Last August 19, 2016, De La Salle University formally launched the SDG Localization Project by sponsoring a series of events that served as a venue for sharing, learning, and networking. Representatives from the academe, national government agencies, private organizations, local development organizations, international development agencies, community partners, and media attended the event in support of the efforts to promote and localize the global goals of the United Nations.

Lasallian Social Enterprise
for Economic Development (L-SEED)
L-SEED intends to promote Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovations as mechanisms to scale-up the community engagement initiatives of DLSU Manila in terms of creation of jobs and livelihood opportunities for its partner communities, and document the results as a strategy for possible curricular and co-curricular integration. To be able to do these, LSEED leans towards fostering strong and lasting partnerships with public and private organizations for the project implementation.
